TREASURES OF TANZANIA

 



Day 1: Arrival Arusha     D

Meet and greet at Kilimanjaro airport and transfer to hotel in Arusha. Some free time followed by orientation meeting and dinner. Overnight at hotel in Arusha.

 

Day 2: Arusha-Lake Manyara     B/L/D

After breakfast at hotel we will have some free time to buy necesseties, exchange money etc. before setting off on safari. Today we'll drive to Lake Manyara NP which is one of the smaller national parks in Tanzania but still offers beautiful landscapes and is home to an interesting collection of wildlife.  Drive to lodge for check-in and lunch. Relax for a while and them hop into the vehicle for an evening game drive. Return to hotel for dinner. Overnight at lodge.

 

Day 3: Lake Manyara-Serengeti     B/L/D

Early wake up and breakfast at lodge followed by morning game drive, after which we will proceed towards one of the most famous parks in the world, listed by UNESCO. In 1981, Serengeti NP. Game drive and lunch on the way to our lodge. Dinner and overnight at lodge.

 

Day 4: Serengeti     B/L/D

Early wake up and breakfast at lodge, then drive off to catch the early morning activity in the Serengeti(in Kiswahili meaning Endless Plain). A vast area, 14,763 sq km (5,700 sq miles) in size ,offers animals a variety of habitats that change through the year. Famous for the Great Wildebeest migration, it offers visitors an unforgettable experience at every time of year.  We'll have lunch and a nice break at the lodge and seek out more amazing wildlife on our afternoon game drive. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 5: Serengeti-Ngorongoro     B/L/D

After breakfast at the lodge we'll explore some more of this magnificient place and slowly make our way to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On the way we'll make a stop at Oldupai Gorge where archeologists found evidence showing that the area was occupied by hominids over 3 million years ago and thus claiming that it could be the birthplace of mankind. And then of course there is the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest unbroken, inactive and unfilled caldera in the world. With a diameter of approximately 19 km (12 miles) and its majestic walls that rise just over 610 m (2000 feet), the crater floor covers an area of 260 sq km (100 sq miles). Over 30,000 animals including the rare black rhino call this unique place their home.

We'll make a short photo stop and then continue to our ldoge on the rim of the crater. Dinner and overnight at lodge.

 

Day 6: Ngorongoro-Lake Eyasi     B/L/D

Enjoy breakfast with a view and then descend to the bottom of the crater for a natural ZOO game viewing experience. Being  the largest unbroken, caldera in the world, it gives the visitor a unique opportunity for game viewing. So as not to miss anything we'll have a light lunch in the crater. Some more game viewing will be followed by a spectacular ascent to the rim of the crater and on into a complete change of landscape as we approach Lake Eyasi.  Arrive to lodge and relax before dinner. Overnight at lodge.

 

Day 7: Lake Eyasi-Arusha     B/L/D

Early  wake up and breakfast at lodge. A truly unique experience awaits us today as we will visit one of the last hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa, the  local Hadzabe people. We will get an opportunity to meet them, try out our archery skills and see how they live. Whoever is up to it can even join in the hunt. Our last lunch on safari and head to our hotel in Arusha. Dinner and overnight in hotel.

 

Day 8: Arusha-Zanzibar     B

Breakfast at hotel and free time until transfer to airport for filght to Zanzibar. The word Zanzibar signifies a place of tranquility and natural beauty.
It is an exotic island with a rich culture and a unique history. Transfer to hotel in Stone Town and some free time for lunch or just to relax. In the afternoon we'll explore the narrow alleys of this place where the Swahili culture was born, a mixture of African Bantu, Persian Shiraz, Middle East and even Asian culture. We'll take a guide, just in case. Evening free at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Stone Town.

 

Day 9: Zanzibar     B

After breakfast at the hotel we'll leave Stone Town and make our way north, learning about the island's history as well as lit's famous spice industry.  A Spice tour with lunch is a great way to enjoy the journey to the best beaches on the island. Pristine, snow white beaches at Nungwi and Kendwa are simply breathtaking. Check-in at hotel.  Free time at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 10: Zanzibar     B

Free day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 11: Zanzibar     B

Free day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 12: Zanzibar-Dar es Salaam     B

Breakfast at hotel and transfer to Zanzibar airport for short flight to Dar es Salaam airport where we will end our Tanzanian experience. We will assist you with check-in for your onward flight from Dar es Salaam.

End of tour.
