MALAYSIA - TRULY ASIA
DAY 1: … - Kuala Lumpur
Landing at the international airport KLIA. After the customs formalities we will drive to Kuala Lumpur (locals call it K .L.). A panoramic tour of the capital, which is also a business and financial hub of Malaysia, we will see the highest twin towers in the world - Petronas, the oldest mosque in the town of Masjid Jamek, built in Moorish and Indo-Saracenic style, Independence Square with beautiful oriental building Sultan Abdul Samad , the royal palace, the old railway station, Chinatown, Buddhist temple Thean Hou .... accommodation in the hotel and overnight.
DAY 2: Kuala Lumpur - Malacca - Putrajaya - Kuala Lumpur
After breakfast we will drive southwest to the oldest of the Malaysian cities of Malacca, where we arrive after two hours of driving. The city was as the oldest sultanate on the peninsula founded in the 14th century, but in 1511 it was conquered by the Portuguese which the city center still gives its characteristic appearance, all under the auspice of UNESCO. We will visit the ruins of the Portuguese fortress Famosa with its door “Porta de Santiago” and in the town square the Dutch Christian Church “Christ Church” from the 18th century. In the market there will be waiting the rickshas and will take you through the neighbouring area. After we’ll admire the Catholic Church of St. Peter from the 17th century, then the temple of Sri Poyatha Moorthi, built in 1781, the oldest Hindu temple in Malaysia, sightseeing will end at the museum Palais Sultana. Malay community Baba Nyonya consists of Chinese immigrants who already in the 15th and 16th century married the local Malaian women.. This diversity is also reflected thru their cuisine. This unique blend of Chinese and Malay cuisine spices will be tasted at lunch time. An unforgettable culinary experience! On the way back we stop in Putrajaya, new, futuristic, carefully planned eco-city, in which to, in 1999 moved the federal government. We shall pass by the main government buildings and stop at the local mosque, which can hold up to 15.000 believers. Of course, we will stop at the most beautiful Malaysian Putrajaya bridge that rises over the artificial lake. A time-out for a wonderful view .. Return back to K.L., free for dinner and overnight.
DAY 3: Kuala Lumpur - KUALA Gand - Kuala Lumpur
After breakfast, free or optional trip to Kuala Gand, where we visit the center for the preservation and handling of wild elephants. During the journey we will see many palm plantations and orchards, along with a Malay village, where here and there still typical cottages stand where natives live the old way. After almost two hours of driving, we first visit the deer farm where you’ll come hand-in-hand with Java deer and also feed some of the other animals. Upon arrival in Kuala Gandil, after registration you will first see an educational movie, which describes the development of the Centre since 1989, and then have the opportunity to feed the wild Indian elephants and also have a bath together with their cute little offspring. After lunch we return to K.L.. Free for individual exploration of the city and overnight.
DAY 4: Batu CAVES AND HANGING OUT WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY
Breakfast, then we visit the cave complex at Batu Caves, a shrine of the Hindu deity Murugan, whose 43 m high statue stands at the entrance and 272 stairs lead to the temple. At the end of the 19th century, the caves were transformed into a Hindu shrine by an Indian trader called Sammy. Hindu priests gladly bless everyone, regardless of their religious beliefs. It’s also home to a large herd of monkeys from the Macaque family. We’ll spend the afternoon with the locals. Together we’ll try different ways of their local transport while visiting a typical Malaysian family. Return to the hotel, free for dinner and overnight.
DAY 5: Kuala Lumpur - Bukit conditions - Penang Island
After breakfast, we leave K.L. and drive to the northern part of the peninsula. On the way, we will first stop in Kuala Kangsar and see the beautiful mosque Ubudiah. In Bukit Merahu is a world famous center for the protection of the Malaysian orangutan, the only of its kind in the Malay Peninsula. On the island in the middle of the lake, to which we will ride a boat, namely orangutans live freely in the jungle. We will observe them through a 100 meter long protected tunnel. You will be able to observe the offspring of these primates at feeding. Free for lunch and continuation of the journey to the island of Penang. After a good 13 km long bridge we’ll cross to the capital city of Georgetown and check-in at the hotel. Open option evening, possible fish dinning. Overnight.
DAY 6: Penang - KOTA Bharu
After breakfast we’ll walk around the town, which boasts the best preserved colonial architecture in Malaysia and check out urban areas of Little India, Chew Jetty, fort Cornwallis and the Buddhist temple Wat Hayamankalaram with the third largest lying Buddha in the world. Followed by a trip to Kok Lok Si Temple, the largest Buddhist temple in Southeast Asia, from where it offers magnificent views of the island. Free for lunch, and then we will go on the picturesque cross-country journey over the peninsula to the east. The path will lead us over the Titiwangsa mountain range. In the middle, we will stop in the area of the National Park Belum - Temenggor, which is covered by a more than 130 million years old rainforest. Only in this jungle at one place you can find together the Malay tiger, Asian elephant, white gibbon, Malay bears, tapirs and many species of Malay hornbills. Already so abundant flora is adorned by the largest tropical forest flowers - Rafflesias. At the same time you’ll have the chance to admire the Temenggor Lake, which includes hundreds of islets. We will spend the night in Kota Bharuju, the capital of Kelantan Sultanate on the coast of South China Sea. Free for dinner and overnight.
DAY 7 AND 8: Perhentian Island
After breakfast we’ll drive to the city center, where we will walk to the former royal palace, converted into a museum, then of course we have to visit the very picturesque Malaysian marketplace of Pasar Siti Katidjah. We will continue to the town of Kuala Besut and then by speedboat to the tropical paradise island of Perhentian. This is the Malay name for the outpost since the island was traditionally used by traders traveling between Bangkok and Malaysia. The island has no roads, no vehicles, so we’ll enjoy the peace and quiet, lie around on the sandy beaches, swim in the warm, turquoise seas and explore the beautiful marine world. Swimming among tropical fish and giant turtles is an unforgettable experience….
DAY 9: Perhentian - KUALA BESUT - Kuala Lumpur
In the afternoon return by boat to Kuala Besuta, Evening ride to K.L., free dinner and overnight.
DAY 10: KUALA LUMPUR - (KUALA Selangor)
After breakfast we will go to the most beautiful city park - Lake Gardens, where you can find a deer park, Hibiscus Park, park of orchids and a butterfly park. The highlight of this walk is the visit to the largest covered bird park in the world. We will enjoy a stroll among more than 200 species of birds from all around the world. Free for lunch. Afternoon free or optional trip to Kuala Selangor. After an hour drive to the west coast we climb the hill of Bukit Melawati, where we’ll among the ruins of the fortress of Sultan of Selangor admire and feed the Silvered-Leaf monkey. After a delicious seafood dinner on the riverbank of the Selangor river, we will “set sail” for an unforgettable half-hour night ride between hundreds of Mangrove trees, drenched with thousands of fireflies. Fenomenal! Return back to K.L. and overnight.
DAY 11: KULA LUMPUR - ...
After breakfast, free for independent sightseeing, lunch and recent purchases and rest before flying home.
End of tour!
